So yea, that happened today. It finally came down to this, I got pulled over by the police. I can’t even be mad about it, I know it was going to one day get to this point. As many of my friends know, I am mister super safe driver. I am certified in training others to drive safe and in many super defensive moments. It’s good to have this knowledge and be able to use this daily.
So why oh why, did you get pulled over by the police. Well let me first say, I am happy to say it was a good experience and it could have went super left. Oh so many things could have gone wrong, I could have been shot, I could have got handcuffed, I could have got assaulted, and other’s as you hear in the news, but that didn’t happen. *Side note: As you are reading this, I have used the word super, quite often in this post and even threw the word in again to add to the tally, for I had a super lucky day today and I am happy to report on it.
Back to the story, it’s not epic as you could have imagine. But there are a lot of learning that can be done, when you run into conflicts on the road or in person that try so hard to avoid or have negative results. The police officer that pulled me over was pretty direct, firm, and respectful in the sense of listening and hearing my side before he set the law down. He also was a bit patient, for it was only one officer than two, in which in my mind living in New York City, it can get really bad really quick as you may know or have heard on many news stations and years of abuse and etc.
All in all, the police officer set me straight, gave me a summons, on a matter which was not on my causing. But of course you have to assume the responsibility as you are the driver of the vehicle and you must follow the law and be a safe driver to others as well as set an example.
So for me, I give that police officer kudos, for doing his job right and efficient, and we both left the situation in a formal manner. I definitely know officers are put in crazy situation at any given time, and it’s a case by case situation in which can mean a very bad day or life or death and anything in-between.
So today I took the high road, and was fortunate to be alive and well, and have quite a few paperworks to handle and be aware off, unless, oh yes, unless, I want to be in court and have to see this police officer or more or a judge, in this super rare occurrence. (And yes, that was a super run-on sentence) lol
