To Be A Published Author, A Dream

I have at a time hated books. I hated to read. It wasn’t to say I wasn’t interesting to read, it was just at that time I felt most of the content were typical. I felt the same story and angles were being used. Now I feel the same way about films. I still love film, just feel a lack of storyline is being used to be different. I will get back to film another post, but books were my enemy. Have you ever felt that way before?

In high school when I discovered Shakespeare, Toni Morrison and Maya Angelou is when it hit me, I love books. I hate to have to go 0-500 pages of reading but I loved books. I just hated reading them in school just to pass a test.

What intrigue me the most were the authors and their story. I used to wonder what the author must have been thinking to capture an emotion and to keep you engaged within a story. Why they choose a certain plot or how thought of their characters names. So based off of those curiosities and the lack or void of certain storytelling, I wanted to be a published author. I didn’t know how and when, but I knew before the end of my life (I later adapted to the fame term: Bucket List), I would like it noted and documented that I was a published author.

Streamline about 10 plus years later, I figured out my angle and stories I wanted to write and tell, it’s just the execution of it I was missing. It was my goal to achieve this “Published Author” milestone in 2012, but sadly I failed at that, based on timing and a lot of pressure with other goals and milestones I wanted, but finally can say with certainty that 2013 will be the year I achieve a dream.

My Sexy Appetite, How To Approach A Woman

I have a very particular appetite to a few things. One of these things is women. I just love them all. You can say I love the chance to learn from a woman and her individual moods and philosophy for I find them interesting. A man’s thoughts and motives are more direct, in which some women fail to dig deep a bit to see what type of man she desires, and how to spot them quick and easy.

When a look a woman I can tell a lot. I secretly among meeting a new girl, lady or woman is to find out what is her “Sexy“. I am not talking about just you appearance such as face, eyes, hips and more, but a combination of traits and finesse. There is always something a woman spends more attention to about how she carries herself. So it’s always interesting to discover, and I try to communicate it back to the lady what is about her that shines.

It’s funny when they try to hide it or in idle say I don’t know what I am talking about but eagerly wants to know more. It’s even strange when I speak well and confident when telling them the truth. Of course you know there are those young ladies that believe it’s a plot to trick them, giving them compliments or trying to break down their defenses, but I can say to all the ladies out there that I have yet to meet, I just want to be friends. Also I mean well by inviting you into conversation and giving you a better perceptive of yourself.

To me an engaging and stimulating conversation can beat out all the materialist gibber jabber if you see the higher appeal. You are discovering each other’s “Sexy“, and when you truly see that in a man or a woman it only leads to greater things.

So all the ladies out there (Oh Boy I am really Bold for this one), I gladly invite you to lunch and a cup of coffee or tea. I would love to learn, meet, share and embrace your “Sexy” as we share and be friends.

Purple Touch (A Bit of Soul Searching)

I love this photo of me…it really captures me when I am actually thinking. I am off the grid. My eye captures something and locks in on it as my mind races to find ideas and energy from whatever it is. I think it’s boring if everyone is the same, so without noticing it, I stand out a lot from others. I also love Purple/Violet, though not my favorite overall color, but I think it makes a statement.

Lately I been locked in on couple of goals I have set for myself and trying my hardest to be not distracted. I am in the search for some external inspiration to keep me focused and steady. Some friends and associates get upset or feel a way when they try to sell me on things to support them, when they don’t even check out my efforts. I feel more connected to strangers than people close to me. For example by following other’s personal blogs and video channel, I feel like I know that person and can interact better with them. You just got to love the Internet and bloggers/writer expressing themselves.

Subscriber Interview is a series on my blog where I, Richardo the writer/host of the blog talks and interviews his subscribers each week and find out a little more about them and what they do. It’s designed to keep the blogging community alive and also show others who is out there in the blog universe. Without no further ado, here we go.

Today I get to interview the sexy and creative lady of art Alicia in which is one of my cool subscriber, in which I love her work and would love to work with on a small project. She blogs about her abstract artwork and paintings and has a blog at http://myzuriart.wordpress.com “Zuri Art“. She has a very great style for colors and blends and when I discovered her blog, I was very impressed. I wished I could paint and do cool things too. I hope you go and check her out. What is your name and what do you enjoy doing for fun?

Aye I’m Alicia and for fun I sing and listen to music while painting or editing photos, music helps it all flow. Other than that I’m a huge movie buff so my DVD player is always on and a spliff lit. I go out once in a while but I mainly chill.

Where are you from (city, state, country) and Nationality?

I was born in San Fernando Trinidad, of Trinidad and Tobago “Trini to de bone” I left when I was 3yrs old and I have lived in Philly most of my life but I’m still a Trini!

If a blogger and own a blog what is your blog about and what do you enjoy about blogging?

You can follow my blog at http://myzuriart.wordpress.com I am an artist who loves to share her talents so my blog is full of vivid and vibrant photos of my paintings or abstratography [it’s my of photos in abstract form] I am very new at “blogging” but I can say that I do enjoy seeing everything that everyone has to share and that’s just on wordpress, I haven’t even really gotten out there yet, lolz

What would someone enjoy about your blog or about you?

A sense of positivity, I can say that if you don’t feel the good vibrations then your just not in tune (lolz). I am all about honesty and keepin it real. This world is not sweet and I am not one for sugar-coating anything. I take life for what it is and with my blog I am able to share my art and my point of view through my painting and photos.

What do you do mostly on the Internet?

Editing Photos, WordPress, Facebook, ArtBreak, Pandora is always open, Shopping when I don’t need to, and I’m always looking up info on becoming a better artist.

Why did you become a subscriber to Richardo’s blog?

I liked the whole feel of the site it was kool, has a great eye for photography and the articles where relevant.. I dug’em.

Is there a favorite post or something you enjoy the most about Richardo’s blog?

I can say that in Jan you did a photography spread that I enjoyed a lot.

Name one or a few of your Guilty Pleasures?

Sleeping in late more like a bad habit (lolz)
Candy even though I’ve been real good lately
Purple lolz I’m more likely to buy it just because it purple, now do I need it smh
MaryJane nuff said.

What were some of your favorite childhood activities?

Color by number call me crazy but I use to keep a folder of my best ones lolz
K’Nex I loved building things mostly for my Barbies lolz
My Imagination was real serious back then I really kept myself preoccupied with my own thoughts… and I still do

If you had $10 in your pocket, what would you spend it on?

If I’m hungry then, I’m getting something to eat; but other than that it depends on the situation.

If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be?

Bob Marley, I just want to sit and listen to him talk and play the guitar

What inspires you to write or read blogs?

The search for knowledge I love finding out things and I believe that blogging (even though very opinionated) still gives you a feel of what’s going on through the eyes of a regular person and not so much the “news”

What’s your favorite type of music or you listen to frequently?

Neo Soul R&B and Oldies Songs and music with a Positive message

What’s one of your favorite movies and why?

One of my newest fav’s are Ip Man 1&2 the whole philosophy of Win Chun and the martial arts is bananas just two great movies.

Any good tips or good advice for up-coming bloggers?

Be patient your following will come as long as you pursue what you luv and want to share your blog will be successful Faith Trust Believe

My art painting taking photos and writing ( I am going to get back into writing a lot more)

What is a day in your life-like? (activities)

Well I’m getting used to living my life the way I want it now for once because before I always had a “job” but now I am pursuing my life as an artist:

Waking up to paint, photograph or edit photos
If I have to Host [b/c I am a Hostess at 2 great restaurant and bars in Philly The BoilerMaker & The Farmers Cabinet look’em up and check’em out]
When I get off I come home and blog n facebook, VistaPrint

And in some time in between that I have to live my life see my friends go grocery shopping and a bunch of odds and ends

What is a goal for you in life?

To have a well-known art gallery and studio of my own. For ZuriART to be a well-known name. I have goals to travel and spending months living on islands.

A favorite treat or food you love?

Chicken Roti ooohhh llluuuvvvvv!!!!!!!
